The sudden bombardment of the camp in Ziegenhain bez Kassel...

At the memorial service there were many people in their uniforms. . Prayers were said for the dead and for the well being of the living by French and German priests. There was a unity in the expressed feelings of grief for the dead it no longer mattered in Which uniform and son, father, brother, or friend had died and who was from Russia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Italy, France ... Any sharp divisions that may have existed in our common dissolved sadness.

Re: Stalags
For my Grandfather MILOJE STEPANOVIC.
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, MY DEAR GRANDPA
I feel your spirit everywhere
that seems to calm me down.
I hear your voice in my dreams,
I can't get you out...
My days were turned around
when you left this life!
Please, I am begging you
protect where you are.
I love you here on Earth!
You made me smile each day.
Your hug brought me happiness
when i was feeling down.
I NEVER FORGOT how you talked...
I NEVER FORGOT how you smiled...
I need you here to guide me
through the days and nights of my life.
I LOVE YOU, grandpa!
I MISS YOU SO MUCH!!!
I need to feel your hugs,
but i need you to protect me
where ever you are...
Even though i can't see you,
i know your near...
Even thought i can't hear you,
i know you talk to me...
Even though i can't hug you,
i know you'll protect me
everyday of my life.
WHERE EVER YOU ARE
I NEED YOU HERE WITH ME!
NEVER FORGET,
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, MY DEAR GRANDPA!!!
You're in my heart,
And there you'll stay,
And be remembered everyday,
Forever I will think of you!

LIFE GOES ON - WRITING MY OWN STORY
My grandfather passed away in 1990, and I gave birth to my son 1992. in Kassel - just 50 km north of Ziegenhain. Everything is possible!!!
I truely believe that God is sending my family and I this baby to fill the void that my grandfather left when he died.

I want to say, that I'm definitely going to Germany, again. I will have a guided tour around Ziegenhain, which offers me a experience of local history - Between 1939-1945 located in what is today the township of Trutzhain was a prisoner of war camp, the STALAG IX A Ziegenhain!
I promise!

My grandfather was a Commander of the border post at the time of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Ten years he was a border guard in Slovenia... and was then arrested and taken to a camp in Germany.

Hand write on this photo:
"My best friend... Beware!" - 20. 01.1938. Slovenia - Maribor, Pohorje
And then, 1941...a prisoner... where suffering from starvation and disease.

1954... AFTER many years . At the time, the social and economic situation of our country is extremely difficult.
My grandpa was visibly decrepit and thin...I'M FEELING PITY FOR HIM...

Merci,
Philippe.
